INFO
Interhit presents its coolest record yet, the 1998 version of the 1992 techno/electronica classic "Open Your Mind" by USURA. The hard-driving beats and samples of the Simple Minds alternative classic "New Gold Dream" mesh together with a lone moaning female. Somewhere in the distance, a dominating mysterious voice exhorts us to open our minds on this progressive Eurodance masterpiece. Sure to be huge in the clubs, it's sonic appeal is undeniable. No club DJ or dance music fan will want to be without this powerful new version of one of the true club classics of the 90s"Open Your Mind."
USURA began as a union of four Italian producers in 1991. Their first big hit "Open Your Mind" reached the Top 10 sales charts all over Europe in 1992 and became an underground techno dance anthem right at the beginning of the Eurodance explosion. More European hits followed, including "Rock The House," "Don't You Want My Love," "Sweat" and "Tear It Up." During this time, USURA worked with some of the hottest producers in dance - Clivilles & Cole, Steve "Silk" Hurley, and Rollo. In 1995, USURA teamed up with label mates Datura (of "Voo-doo Believe?" fame) to produce "Infinity" which soon became a smash in Europe. The collaboration of USURA and Datura proved to be a historical moment for European dance music. Two more Italian hits "Flying High" (an Italian Top 10) and "In The Bush" set the stage for the new version of "Open Your Mind."
This pivotal record, commercially unavailable for several years, returns to the US marketplace courtesy of Interhit Records - remixed for 1998 and right in line with today's most cutting edge sounds. An added bonus is the inclusion of the original version which has been completely remastered. "Open Your Mind" (Remixes) definitely has something for fans old and new alike. The 12" vinyl package features stellar mixes from DJ Quicksilver, M.U.T.E and Time Social. The CD Maxi includes a Chris Cox radio edit of the DJ Quicksilver Mix.
