DJ Tiësto (Tijs Vervest) is a man that needs no introduction; Tiesto has become the epitome of trance music over the last five years. Since his debut with the remix of Delerium's smash hit "Silence," he has captured the hearts of thousands of clubbers with his expertly laid-out sets and uncanny ability to work a crowd.
Accolades have been coming in thick and fast for him, most importantly courtesy of DJ Mag's Top 100 DJ's poll. Tiësto first won it in 2002, before consolidating his crown a year later and again last year. He became the first ever DJ to give a solo stadium concert in front of 25,000 fans, and also DJ at the closing ceremony of the 2004 Athens Olympic Games... who said dance music is dying!
You could say it's been a long wait for Tiësto's fans to get their hands on a regular new mix compilation. His last one, Nyana, dates from May 2003. In between Tiësto has released his artist album Just Be and the soundtrack to his performance at the Opening Ceremonies of the Olympic Games in Athens 2004, entitled Parade Of The Athletes. He has also delivered some superb singles as 'Traffic', 'Just Be' and 'Love Comes Again', as well as two acclaimed live DVD's from the Tiësto In Concert events in 2003 and 2004. Previously quality tunes have come out under various guises, such as Gouryella, Kamaya Painters and Vimana. Remix wise is where Tiësto has had lots of success, remixing the likes of Kosheen, Moby, Sarah McLachlan and of course Delerium.
In Search Of Sunrise 4 is Tiësto's tribute to sun and sand, open air venues and those long summer nights. In Search Of Sunrise 4 is inspired by his latest tours through Latin America in 2004 and 2005, where he visited countries as Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Costa Rica, Colombia and many more. His travels through these countries, especially the party atmosphere and the warmth of the people made such a deep impression that they would form the main inspiration for this new release.
Tiësto has selected some of the finest tracks from his playlists, and has signed many of the tracks especially and exclusively for this compilation.
